The World Rowing Masters Regatta is held annually and open to rowers 27 years of age and older.

Lake Velence is located in the heart of Hungary, 50 km from Budapest, 36 km from Lake Balaton, in a wonderful natural surroundings, and it is easily accessible. Lake Velence is the second largest natural lake in Hungary. It has an area of 26 km2, one third of which is covered by the common reed. The effect of sunshine, and because of the lake is shallow (the average depth is 1.5 m) this is one of the warmest lakes in Europe.
Lake Velence hosted the Masters Rowing World Championship in 1996 with a great pride. The multifunctional Water Sport Center has the 2350 m long, 150 m wide and 3,4 m water depth rowing course, with the finish-tower and many additional service, which is suitable for hold a high-level rowing championship.
